Another movie rental store casualty, Cinema Revolution, holds its liquidation sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday ($5 admission) and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at 3260 Minnehaha Av. S., Mpls., (www.cinema revolution.org). About 2,500 foreign, independent, documentary, cult and classic DVDs (no Blu-ray) will be $5 to $10. A few out-of-tiffany bracelets titles will be more. TVs, DVD players, monitors and other store fixtures will also be for sale.

More reduced rates for massage and acupuncture

In my recent article on massage schools, I missed the St. Croix Center for Healing Arts (411 County Hwy. UU, Hudson, Wis., 1-715-381-1402). It’s $39 per hour for a massage ($25 per hour for ages 55 and older). Appointments are taken 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mon.-Thurs., 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fri., and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat.

The Pin Doctor (2913 Harriet Av. S., Suite 103, Mpls., 952-922-2141) offers acupuncture on a sliding scale. People normally pay what they can afford, from $15 to $40 per session, but for the month of October all sessions are $10 each in a common room. Sometimes two or three treatments a week can be more helpful than once a week, but people often spread out the appointments when they can’t afford it, said owner Mats Sexton. This represents an opportunity for more concentrated treatment. No proof of income is required, but insurance is not tiffany on sale.

Storewide sale at gift shop

If you missed Bibelot’s storewide sale last week, Goodthings comes through this week. Save 20 percent on all gifts, women’s clothing, jewelry and home decor Friday and Saturday. It’s a good time to take advantage of the excellent selection of offbeat greeting cards that never go on sale. Stores are located at 2184 4th St., White Bear Lake, 651-426-8006, and 12139 Elm Creek Blvd., Maple Grove, 763-494-9255, www.shopgoodthings.com.

Say ‘boo’ for a discount

Zywiec’s Haunting Experience (10900 E. Point Douglas Rd., Cottage Grove, 651-459-3001, www.haunting experience.com) offers one free admission with a paid admission ($19 for two) with the code word “boo” at the gate Friday and Saturday only. Save an extra buck by bringing two canned food items each for charity. The experience takes victims through a black tunnel, a new 3D haunting attraction, the Tomb of Doom, a morgue and a 1.5-mile hayride through foreboding forests and dark swamps. An optional bonfire and movie are included. The new corn maze is an additional $7 or $5 for ages 2 to 12.

One more reminder for the Thymes sale

Steals+Deals takes a break next week, so here’s one for the calendar: The Thymes annual tiffany jewelry on sale sale (1546 NE. Fillmore St., Mpls., 612-338-4471) is famous for its discounts of 50 to 75 percent on discontinued and overstocked scents and soaps. Get lotions, body washes, shampoos, candles, refresher oils, gift sets, reed diffusers and travel kits from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8-9, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10. Go early for the best selection, but for the first time an additional 50 percent discount was offered on the last day of last year’s sale. It was a last-minute decision, however, so you’ll need to show up on the 10th to find out if they repeat it.
